Q: WHO MAY ATTEND THIS PROJECT?

A: Any student who has graduated from grades 6th through 12th may attend this event.

Q: SERVANTHOOD IS NOT COMING TO OUR LOCAL AREA.  CAN WE JOIN ANOTHER WEEK AS AN OUTSIDE GROUP?

A: Absolutely! Although you will miss out on serving your own community, it's still a fantastic week to serve others in another part of the country. Your students will make new friends and you can always bring us to your community the following summer!

Q: WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS ARE AVAILABLE TO SERVE?

A: The types of projects can vary from city to city, however, as a general rule of thumb students will have the opportunity to choose between one or more of the following projects listed HERE.

Q: WHERE DO THE STUDENTS SLEEP ALL WEEK?

A: Everyone sleeps at Huntersville United Methodist Church ("HUMC").   Classrooms are turned into bedrooms and every student will sleep on an air mattresses or cots in one of the rooms for the week.   Needless to say, all students will be separated in rooms by gender and have plenty of chaperones in each room for safety and security.   

Q: HOW ARE THE STUDENTS TRANSPORTED ALL WEEK?

A: Parents and youth leaders who donate their time & vehicles will do the lion's share of the driving for the students.   Every driver must have a reliable vehicle, clean driving record and all their vehicle's documentation up to date, including sufficient insurance.   

Q: WHAT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES DO YOU HAVE FOR THE WEEK?

A: If you are 18 years or older, we have many opportunities to serve each week.   We need drivers to take students from project to project, chaperones to spend the night, cooks to help with the group meals, small group leaders, photographers, videographers, musicians, etc.   If you are interested in joining us, contact your attending church and we can let you know our specific needs as the week gets closer.

Q: HOW ARE YOUR LEADERS VETTED?

A: Every leader is connected to an attending church, has a personal relationship with that church's youth worker and comes with a clean background check as an additional security precaution.

Q: WHAT DOES IT COST TO ATTEND FOR THE WEEK?

A: $100 per person. 

Q: WHAT DOES THE COST COVER?

A: lodging, all meals, transportation, t-shirt, wristband, devotional booklet, commemorative digital photo album  & one life-changing experience.

Q: ARE THERE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE IF SOMEONE CANNOT AFFORD THE COST TO ATTEND?

A: While we would consider a scholarship for someone struggling to pay the cost, we would encourage everyone to view this as a mission project and attempt to raise support to attend.   Click HERE to see a sample support letter that we encourage all students to use.
